The Curtain

When I was small, we’d play the hiding game

And when you found me, I’d say, “Now your turn!”

Then as you went to hide I’d count to ten

And warn you I was on my way, and when

At last I saw your big man shoes I’d cry

“I see you Dad! You’re much too big to hide!”

And now, once more, you hide from me in vain

I can’t help seeing you everywhere I look

And once again I feel the urge to cry

“I see you Dad! You’re much too big to hide!”
