The Great Enigma

What are these massless things we call our thoughts

That constantly emerge from human brains?

They surely cannot be composed of nought

But must within some substance be arranged

For thoughts determine how we choose to act

They are the start of most of what we do

And what is nothing will not interact

With things of mass for action to ensue

Perhaps, like light, thoughts are comprised in waves

But of a form we cannot yet detect

Not different from all other earthly things

That, born of causes, bear their own effects

Yet if that’s so, the mystery still remains

For selfawareness cannot be explained
