The Loaded Questions

The loaded question is a useful ploy

Which, when it works, is every lawyer’s joy

Assume within your question what’s disputed

And hope the witness won’t think to refute it:

So counsel’s question the true question masks

“Do you still beat your wife?” she slyly asks

“I stopped and had no choice but so to do:

She’d started taking lessons in kung fu”
